Jonie Alden leads the residential title and builder escrow team for Landmark Title. She has spent more than 50 years in the title industry providing realtors, builders, mortgage brokers and their clients with the highest level of service and attention to detail. Jonie started out in customer service and worked her way up to escrow officer positions before accepting a branch management position for Landmark Title in 2013. Jonie is a fundamental part of the residential team and her contributions to Landmark Title’s continued success earned her the honor of employee of the month.
We spoke with Jonie to learn more:
What do you think sets you apart from others in the industry?
My caring heart and depth of knowledge.
Can you tell us about a time you went above and beyond for a client or coworker?
I recently had a first-time home buyer whose loan documents were wrong. At 4:30 p.m., we still didn’t have new loan documents. I went to tell him. He asked what time the office closed, and I told him I was there for as long as it took to get this done. He let out a sigh of relief. This is what we do as escrow officers, we take care of our clients. I don’t think of it as going above and beyond – it’s doing my job.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
My favorite thing about my career is meeting the buyers and sellers and helping them realize their dream of home ownership.
What motivates you to come to work every day?
My clients are what make me show up to work with a smile on my face every day.
What are some of your hobbies and interests outside of work?
I like to sit and relax with a good book or watch General Hospital, my favorite TV show since high school. I also love to cook. I make delicious homemade jam and love to craft in my beautiful she-shed.
What advice would you give to someone just starting in your position?
You must put in the time, and work hard. If you do, it will pay off.
